Craftsmanship
At Giano, the creative and manufacturing process values time, materials and precision, shaping products designed to last. Each stage is distinct yet deeply connected, in a continuous dialogue between craftsmanship and innovation.
01.Design
Every product begins with a process of research and inspiration that combines contemporary aesthetics with artisanal culture. Designers and craftsmen work together to develop balanced, functional and distinctive styles, conceived beyond seasonal trends and guided by a lasting vision.
02.Material selection
The choice of raw materials is fundamental. Leathers and materials are selected for their natural, structural and aesthetic qualities, with a focus on certified supply chains and high sustainability standards.
03.Cutting
Precision and expertise guide every stage of the cutting process. Each component is crafted to enhance the material while reducing waste and defining the structural foundations of the product.
04.Stitching and construction
This is where craftsmanship and product identity come together. Stitching, carried out either by hand or with the support of advanced technologies, is not only structural but also defines the comfort, flexibility and durability of the shoe. The process includes different construction techniques, each selected according to the characteristics and intended use of the model.
Blake stitchingAn essential and refined construction where the sole, insole and upper are joined through a single internal stitch. This technique makes the shoe particularly flexible, lightweight and close-fitting, ideal for a clean and contemporary aesthetic.
Bologna constructionAn artisanal technique in which a soft leather “sock” wraps around the foot. The absence of rigid structures allows for an exceptionally soft and natural fit, similar to a glove. This construction prioritises comfort and freedom of movement.
Strobel constructionA construction system in which the upper is stitched to a flexible base, creating a lightweight and dynamic structure. Each technique is carefully selected to achieve the best balance between aesthetics, functionality and performance, helping define the distinctive character of every Giano creation.
05.Assembly
During assembly, every element takes its final shape. The expertise of skilled artisans ensures precision and a natural fit, expressing the authenticity of Italian manufacturing excellence.
06.Finishing and patina
The final stage enhances the character of each creation. Treatments, colouring and finishing touches are applied with care to make every product unique and recognisable over time.
07.Quality control
Every product undergoes rigorous quality checks to ensure the highest standards of aesthetics, durability and comfort. Only products that fully meet Giano’s standards become part of the collection.
International standards and compliance
Giano footwear is manufactured in compliance with international safety and quality standards.
For the Eurasian Economic Union markets, the company holds the EAC (EurAsian Conformity) certification, which confirms compliance with the technical requirements established by TR CU 017/2011 regulations for light industry products.
